About the Author
Charles Louis de Bourbon was born November 2, 1933 in the Netherlands. During the Second World War, Charles and his family were moved around frequently. His father was the mayor of the city Oss and eventually went into hiding. Charles left Holland in 1952 to settle in Canada as work was difficult to find after the war. His first job was in sales at Prudhommes Nursery in Beamsville. Charles then left for search of gold to Timmins, Ontario. His took a job as a desk clerk at the Empire Hotel where he met his future wife, Arline, of 64 years.
They moved to Toronto where Charles, in 8 years, became assistant department manager for Simpson’s and later became manager for Fairweathers. He became a Re/Max real estate Broker for the fifth largest office in the Toronto area.
Charles is now retired and living happily with his wife in Prince Edward County, since 2005.
